Kayla and a little knitting

This is Kayla, the younger kitten. She will be one in June. This was taken in the middle of January. She must weigh twice what Juliet, the older kitten weighs.

Knitting is happening at home but no pictures. I have the front and back of the little white tee out of acrylic done. I changed it to have a real placket as the pattern has a fake one. I am also knitting the sleeves from the cuff up instead of from the body down like the pattern. I made a small hem section on the bottoms of the body and want to do that on the sleeves.

Other than that, my Tucson shawl/wrap is done and blocking out of Malabrigo worsted. I am still working on a Calorimetry and hope to finish that before the end of the month.

My work project hasn't moved at all as we have been very busy at work and I have worked through my lunch and an hour after work to get work done. I would rather have no lunch than to stay even later every day. Tomorrow should be a normal day so I should get out on time and may even have a lunch hour.

I signed up for my Knitting Retreat this weekend and they tempted me with some Prism Lace (I think that it what it is from memory). I spent hours on Ravelry looking it up and seeing what people have done with it. I haven't bought it yet but if I do, I have a few patterns picked out that it will work with.

Tulips

My niece is now 20 and has turned into a lovely young lady. She gave me these tulips for my birthday last week along with a very nice card.

I am still plugging away on some Malabrigo March projects. I have finised two Calorimetry's and have one more on the needles.

I have been going through my lace and sweater patterns and plan to start something for me in April.

Finished....at last

This is the Knitting Pure and Simple Top Down V-Neck Cardigan. I made this one out of some Brown Sheep Lambs Pride Superwash. I want to say the color is Provencial Rose which I love but I don't have the ball bands near me. I started it in May as a Xmas gift for my mother. Instead this year, she received the buttons and I told her I would finish it up. My goal was to finish it before the end of February and I weaved in the ends and sewed on the buttons yesterday the 28th. I would have finished it before that but I was sick with a stomach virus from Tuesday on and still haven't eaten much besides toast, oyster crackers and soup.

I joined Malabrigo March again on Ravelry through the Malabrigo Junkies group. I only plan to make a Calorimetry (or two) and a Tucson shawl/wrap (pattern in a Manos book). I have many more things I want to make but the only other thing I may start is a Swallowtail scarf in some Malabrigo lace that I have. Not sure about that though.

A nice big snowstorm is coming tonight so I am hoping for no work tomorrow. They tend to err on the side of caution and close the office as many of the employees have a 20 - 30 minute commute. I have a 6 mile ride but I am glad when they close as it is almost all downhill to get there but uphill to get home and I slid through a stop sign the last time they let us out after it had started snowing.
