Ten on Tuesday

The Ten on Tuesday topic for 11/29 is Ten Favorite Musicals.

I'm not sure if these are just movies or movies and plays but here goes.

1)  Grease - probably my favorite movie.
2)  Wicked - the play.  Saw it this summer, it was great.
3)  Rent - both the play and movie.  Saw the play years ago and I own the movie.
4)  Wizard of Oz - watched it again the last time it was on.
5)  Sound of Music - When my Aunt was alive and I visited her in VT, we always had to go visit the Trapp Family Lodge.
6)  Pirates of Penzance - saw it on Broadway when I was in middle or high school.  It starred Robby Benson, Treat Williams and Maureen McGovern.
7)  Fiddler on the Roof
8)  The Rocky Horror Picture Show
9)  Mamma Mia
10)  Peter Pan - saw the play with Cathy Rigby.
Bonus 11)  Dirty Dancing - though they don't really break out in song like the rest.

Ten on Tuesday

The Ten on Tuesday topic for 11/22 will be 10 Things For Which You Are Thankful.

1)  My family, my parents are in their 80's and still doing pretty good.
2)  My kitties, Juliet and Kayla - they make me laugh every day.
3)  My friends
4)  My health, such as it is at times.  It hasn't been too bad lately after my awful summer.
5)  My favorite yarn shop - gives me a place to hang out and get yarn
6)  High Speed Internet - I think it has been over a year since I ditched the dial up.  Not sure why I waited so long.
7)  Ravelry - so many patterns I would have missed out on without Ravelry.  Plus, all the people I've met online and enjoy keeping in touch with.
8)  Knitting - it keeps me sane
9)  Books - librarys, book stores. Don't know what I would do without my daily time with a book.
10)  My Job - it gives me money to do what I want.

RIP Jensen

This is Jensen.  We had him put to sleep on Wednesday, October 26, 2011.  He was over 18 years old.
I had a co-worker many years ago that had a bunch of kittens.  I had told her if there was an orange male, then I wanted one.  At the time, I didn't know that most orange cats are male.  Anyway, I picked him out when he was somewhere between 3-6 weeks old and took him home when he was 8 weeks old.  The last few years, he had been declining, lost about half his weight as he was once big and fluffy.  In the end, he really didn't like to be touched except to be petting on his head.  He loved to eat and would follow you for treats.  I think we did it just at the right time as with the storm last weekend, we were without power from Saturday afternoon till Wednesday afternoon.  I really think the cold house would have been a lot for him to handle as he seemed arthritic (along with other issues) in the end and had a little trouble when he would lay down.  The two 3 year old kitties seemed sad for a few days and though they all weren't the best of buddies, they would occasionally all sleep together on the love seat.  Jensen will be missed, he was named for the Jensen brothers that played tennis and won the French Open doubles one year.  I wish I had more pictures of him but he was around before I had a digital camera.  Now to find the pictures I do have and scan them into the computer.  RIP Jensen.
