The preemie hat is done. The back of my niece's sweater is done. The flying skier is in a royal blue and the rest of the sweater is in navy. I think the skier looks fine but would probably stand out better if it was in white. I didn't have any white and didn't want to buy any so went with a color my niece would like that I did have. I am now doing both fronts together. One side has a pocket which I am adding a fallen down skier onto. The other side will have a skier coming down from the shoulder area. In my vision it will be nice, hope it looks that way when I have it all knitted up. I should finish the pocket by tomorrow night and hope to have the fronts finished by the end of the week. I may have to start my Baby Norgi soon as I am really enjoying the color work.

Still working on the nieces sweater. Not sure if I mentioned it, but I made a baby sweater over the summer and the shower invite came so I spent two days making a baby hat to match. That was delivered to the shower yesterday by my mother. From what I hear the mother-to-be was happy that I had spent time making her something. I have also started knitting a premie hat to use as my knitting project when I go to knitting guild meetings. I would bring my current project but last year I spent twice as much time fixing errors made during the meeting so I decided this year, I would just make the hats.

I ripped out the IK sweater for my niece. Just wasn't going the way I wanted. So, I am now on my third different yarn/sweater for her. This one I am using a pattern (Design by Judith, I think) as the basis for the shape and I am adding the intarsia from the original (the first sweater I had started for her) to the back and some to the front. I think this one will work out fine and I have already ripped it once and played with the sizes some more. I tend to get gauge but then it tightens up when I actually knit it. I usually solve this by just going up a size and then it will fit fine or be a bit big but she is still growing so that isn't a problem. I ended up sending 10 mice to Wendy so they are now in her possession. I haven't touched the Whitby gansey but do plan to start it up again. It was too bulky in my lap when we had the hotter weather a few weeks ago.
