Ten on Tuesday

The above is something I used to eat for dinner a lot, I think it was all from Schwan's.  A roasted potato vegetable blend with some cubed chicken.

The Ten on Tuesday topic for 9/28 is 10 Things in Your Refrigerator Right Now.

1) Lipton Green Tea with Citrus - love this stuff. Probably has too much sugar but it is good.

2) Milk - skim

3) Wheat Bread, Rye Bread, and these wheat bread thin things that are yummy.

4) Turkey Breast for my lunch

5) Double Chocolate Milano cookies - yummy

6) Leftover chocolate frosting - from my nephews birthday last week.

7) A package of M & M's - not sure why they aren't eaten yet.

8) Grated Cheese - love the grated cheese

9) Ketchup - for when I have chicken

10) Jello cups - for my lunch.

Azzu's Shawl

Azzu's shawl out of Araucania Ranco Multy.  This was a relatively easy knit.  Will be a gift for someone, my hair dresser or a friend.

Work knittig is now the Mara shawl, it is just mindless garter with a few increases thrown in on the right side.  The Red scarf project scarf is done, just need to photograph it and get it in the mail.

I haven't started the Criminal Minds scarf yet but will before Wednesday as I have clues 1 and 2 to get through.  I have some old Knit Picks yarn that I had been saving to make something for a friend.  I have 4 skeins but 3 are one dyelot and 1 is another so this should work out fine, I may make it a little bigger to use up some of the third skein.  I had almost thrown out the yarn years ago as I had ordered 4 skeins for a shawl and then got the different dyelots and CS was no help.  I don't think I have ordered yarn from them since.

Not much else going on, I am looking forward to Rhinebeck, so far it looks good to go.  I need to make my list of what I am going to look for.  I have a few things in mind but need to write them down as I will forget the minute I get there.

It's going to be a rainy week which will help my car look a little better as it needs a bath.

Eyelet Baby Cardigan

This is another Eyelet baby cardigan, this one is out of Plymouth Encore.  I had one ball of multi and ended up one that I hoped would work from Patternworks.  It's not perfect but the baby won't know.  I do like this pattern and will probably use it again.

Still working on Mara and the Red scarf projet scarf.  Haven't started anything new and won't until the Red Scarf is done.

I think I may end up buying a lot of gifts as I don't think I am going to accomplish what I planned.  I haven't been feeling well and have other stuff going on and just don't feel like it or have time to knit.  I did join a Criminal Minds KAL on Ravelry on the Criminal Minds group.  It is going to be called a Kercheif but is using 440 yards of sock yarn so should be big enough to be number 8 of the 10 shawls in 2010.  Not sure if I will finish more than the 8 I will have counting this new one.

I can't believe it is almost October.  I hope to get to Rhinebeck again this year unless something unexpected stops the day trip.

Ten on Tuesday

The start of the Mara Shawl.

The Ten on Tuesday Topic for 9/14 is 10 Reasons to Watch Football.

Back in the Joe Montana days, I loved football. Had Joe Montana shirts, posters, etc. I even followed him to the Chiefs and to this day, I root against the 49's as they let him go. After he retired, I rooted on John Elway. After he retired, I gave up football. I am still waiting to find another quaterback that just calls to be and then I will be following it again. But anyway, here's my list:

1)  Cute players in tight pants.

2)  Can knit and watch the game

3) the excitement of the game, sometimes no one will look at you strange if you yell at the TV.

4) the announcers depending on who they are, some are entertaining

5) we just got a new channel this weekend which will show UConn football games so now I can watch the
college games when they aren't on regular channels. This may make me a college football fan, I'm really
not and am not sure if I want to be.

6) the fans when they scan the crowd

7) the snacks, nothing like a football game, to just sit and snack

8) for College Football - the bowl games

9) Super Bowl parties

10) Super Bowl ads - my favorite are the Budweiser Horses ones.

That's about it.  I am currently not that much of a fan but since it is nice to knit and watch and the sports I do watch, baseball, nascar and tennis are almost over, this may be it. Of course, once as college basketball starts, I will watch that, boys or girls, any team that's on tv.

Daybreak Shawl

This is my Daybreak Shawl (by Stephen West) out of some Noro Silk Garden Lite and Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool.  I think I followed it exactly as the medium size.  Those last rows seemed to take forever.

I also finished the Azzu's shawl and that is on the blocking board right now.  The baby sweater is also done and came off the blocking board today.

After I finished the baby sweater, I started another shawl, Mara by Madelinetosh out of some leftover brown Cascade 220. It had been sitting in a bag in the den since I finished a vest and I didn't know what I would do with it.  The Corrugator is still my lunch knitting.

Next up with be the sample legwarmers.  I hope to start them this week.  I am also doing a mystery kercheif (small shawl) knit a long on Ravelry that starts on September 20th.  It's through the Criminal Minds group.  I can't remember how I found it last night but I was just looking at something, probably the people page and I somehow ended up reading about it and signing up.  I have to get some needles for it as I can't find any in the size I need with pointy enough tips.  I found some yarn that may work and it will end up being a gift for someone.

It's been much cooler out and it just makes me want to knit more.

Ten on Tuesday

These are flowers my father planted around a tree in the front yard.  I had been planning all summer to take pictures and the long weekend was the perfect time.

The Ten on Tuesday topic for 9/7 is 10 Things to Do Before the End of Summer.

1) Go out for Ice Cream at least once to one of the places that is either only open till October or I only get to
    during the summer.

2) At least start another book from my summer reading list

3) Clean ups some stuff in my room so I can bring up my Grandma's old rocking chair, nothing to do with
summer but I had been meaning to get it done by now.

4) Wear some of my summer tops that I somehow forgot about in the closet.

5) Paint my toenails a color I haven't used yet this summer

6) Make some lemonade or ice tea, I tend to stop after summer ends.

7) Make some more smoothies as I also stop making these.

8) Take some pictures with my new camera, I've had it for at least a month or more and only took it out
of the box the day it arrived.

9) Finish up some of the knititng I stared over the summer, this should be do-able, only a few rows left on a
    shawl.

10) Go for a nice walk.

Still knitting, started a Mara shawl out of some leftover Cascade 220 as it was sitting in the den since I finished the vest I made with it and I didn't want to look at it anymore.  A few rows left on Azzu's shawl.  The Red Scarf Project scarf is coming along slowly at work.

I have also been reading, we had half day Friday's during the summer and it was nice as I could go to the library on my way home.  The library is now back on their Saturday hours starting this weekend so I can go then if I need to.
