Ravelympics project 1, done

These are the Encore Sock yarn socks.  A tiny bit big but good to wear around the house.  I am now figuring out my next sock project.   These were for Team Knitmore.

The baby sweater for Team Sasquatch is coming along.  I had hoped for more lunch knitting for it but I ended up going to the doctor yesterday so worked through lunch.  I hope to start the sleeves tomorrow.

My sister drove me crazy about the scarf she wants to knit.  She found two bead shops and off we went on Saturday.  One was a real bead store and she found her beads and now wants to take beading classes to make some jewelry and maybe a tiny bag.  Luckily, she found a co-worker to go with her and I can just stick with my knitting.   Maybe I can get her to make me some stuff.  The other shop she found sold incense and jewelry.  She is about a third done with her scarf and making it up as she goes along where she is placing her beads along the scarf.  The end sections she took from a vest pattern in a beaded knitting book I had.

I am debating joined a March knit a long for a Mondo Cable Cardigan/Pullover through the Knitmore Girls podcast.  If I can find some yarn in the stash, I may make the cap sleeved cardigan.  I have a similar sweater already on the needles but may do this also.

Citron

Here's Citron in Malabrigo Lace, color Cognac.  Fun knit but I am glad to be done, those 500 + stitch ruffle rows were tough.

Olympic knitting is coming along.  One sock is done.  I am almost finished with the yoke on the baby sweater but I am not taking lunch tomorrow at work so I will work on it tomorrow night.  Tonight will be sock night.

I was home sick Wednesday and left work early Tuesday due to the snow and not feeling well.  The office closing due to the weather was a help.  I hardly knit, just sat staring at the TV.  Good thing for Olympic coverage to give me something to watch.

Last weekend, my sister and I checked out a new to us yarn shop.  I bought some sock yarn and 2 patterns, one for an adult sock, one with a baby hat and socks.  My sister now wants to knit again and with beads no less.  She saw a scarf at the YS but never asked about it.  She mentions it to me while we are driving around.  I found it but it is a kit so I looked through a book I have with beading in it and she is going to create her own.  Shouldn't be too hard as I have made a necklace similar so I have to find mine and show it to her.  She also wants to go back to knitting sweaters since she adopted one of my nieces sweaters when my niece moved out and left them all on her bed.  She also adopted a vest and my mother a purse from the left behind items.  The rest will get donated to charity.  I don't think my niece ever wore them except for the photo shoot that I made her do when she opened them as gifts.  Oh well, they are being used now.

Let the games begin....

Olympic knitting is all ready to go.   I am on two teams and am doing one project for each one.

The socks are for Team Knitmore in the Sock Hockey event.  The baby sweater is for Team Sasquatch in the Junior Olympics event.  I am hoping to finish the baby sweater and I hope to at least get one sock done during the Olympic time frame.

I had hoped to just stay home all weekend (plus Monday as I am off) but so far it looks like I will be going to LL Bean with my parents on Sunday and now my sister wants to go to a new yarn shop that a co-worker of hers goes to in Plainville, CT tomorrow.  It shouldn't affect my knitting as I don't always knit during the day unless I am watching something on TV.  Sunday I know I will be watching the Daytona 500 so that will be some knitting time.  There are a few UCONN games to watch, too.  Plus, the Olympics.

FO, FO

The top one is another Seafoam scarf in some sock yarn that I had in the stash.  It was intended for another project, but that was ripped out and it was just waiting for another pattern to come along.  It will go to a friend at work for her birthday this week.  The hat is going to her daughter who received the yellow sweater I knit with the bumblebee buttons on it at her baby shower.

I am still on the ruffle on Citron.  It has become my work project and would have been done by now as I was getting almost 3 rows done at work during the week.  But, then came Thursday when we had to work through lunch and stay late and I took a half day on Friday so I haven't touched it.  I will start up again on it on Tuesday at work.

I think my Olympic knitting is down to a pair of socks, size 4 needles.  Maybe also a baby sweater so I can get a gift done early.  I am off of work tomorrow so I plan on getting it all set up and put in a knitting bag ready to go.

I finished and returned the borrowed New Moon and Eclipse books.  Yeah, so glad they are done.  I have ordered The Help and that should come this week.  Right now I am reading Those Who Save Us.

I had planned to get more done today but I have been mostly watching the news (or checking the internet) about an explosion at a power plant this morning.  We heard the loud bang and didn't know what it was until I saw it scroll on the bottom of the TV screen.  I used to work in that area but didn't realize they were building a new power plant.  Scary stuff.

I do hope to get some knitting done during the Super Bowl.  I have started working again on my seed stictch top down sweater. I can't wait to be done with the yoke so I can just move onto the body.  The yoke is about 50 rows but it seems to take forever.
