Diamond Fantasy Scarf

This is my Diamond Fantasy Scarf by Sivia Harding in Malabrigo Laceweight color Brilliante. I loved knitting it. I did one more pattern repeat before binding off but I think I had enough yarn left that I could have done another.

I am still working on Gust at work but have been so busy I have been working through my lunch. I am working on Mabel's Scarf at home along with 2 new projects. I cast on a week or so ago a Gothic Leaf Stole by Sivia Harding but not sure if I like it in the yarn I chose. I also cast on today for an Easy Flame Lace Scarf in some Malabrigo laceweight. Had to start one more project during Malabrigo March.

I am also working on one of the squares from Knitters Magazine's Great American Afghan. The Nutmeg Knitters guild members are knitting squares and one afghan is being donated in memory of Barbara Venishnick who was a member of our guild and another is going to be donated to another cause.

Show Your Colors Shawl FO

This is the Show Your Colors Shawl by Spunky Eclectic in the Flutterby colorway. I bought the kit at MA Sheep & Wool in May 2007 and started it right after I got home. Finally finished it and had a chance to block it.
Still plugging away at the same projects. I am on the last repeat on the Diamond Fantasy Shawl. I should be done this weekend. I ordered 3 more Sivia Harding pattarns and have the yarn for 2 of them already. I may have some also for the 3rd but I have to check it out. I don't know what in my queue I will start next but I want to start them all.

Bday 2008

During this past week I celebrated my birthday. I received these two books from my parents though I don't remember who gave me which one. I bought them on Amazon a few months ago and asked each of them if they needed a gift to give me. This saves them trying to find the books I want and my credit card gets paid for them so it all works out. I also got some other stuff but this was the knitting related presents.

I went to my favorite yarn shop today, Yarns Down Under in Deep River CT and the owner handed me my other present which was a gift certificate from my sister. While I was there I managed to put my Xmas present from my sister towards my purchase of 4 skeins of Malabrigo lace, 2 in one color and then 2 single skeins. I also bought a few magazines and some Berocco Ultra Alpaca to make Agatha by ThatLoganChick designs. I think I am going to knit this on my summer vacation at a knitting retreat held by the same yarn shop. If I can wait that long. Last year I worked on my Forest Canopy Shawl and my Faroese Shawlet at camp and finished both within 2 - 3 weeks of coming home from camp.
I am still plugging away on my Diamond Fantasy and am on repeat 6 which should be the last one for the scarf version but I have about 120 more yards so I am going to do a 7th repeat. Other than that I went twice to another local shop to pick up some more Malabrigo worsted and they even had the same dyelots of a color I bought last year so I cleared them out of the few skeins they had that I needed. Now, I just need to sit down and knit some items up.

Hanami

Hanami is blocked. This is the very end. I tried to upload 3 pics but it crashed in the middle so I guess one or two is my limit with my dial up service. It was a fun knit though I am not in love with the ruffle, it tends to want to roll the wrong way. I thought of taking it off but I think I will just live with it as I like idea of the ruffle and it seems to be staying after being blocked in place.
I will have to get a good picture of the whole scarf. Maybe if my niece shows up for my birthday, I can make her model.

The Show You Colors shawl in on the blocking board now. I am still working on the Diamond Fantasy scarf and have finished 4 of the 6 repeats. I hope to add a 7th as I have more yarn than the pattern calls for but we shall see how I feel after I finish the 6th repeat. Gust is still my lunch project. It may take a couple more weeks as I haven't been going to lunch every work day and I don't work on it at home.

I joined Malabrigo Junkies Malabrigo March on Ravelry and have been digging out my Malabrigo stash. I then went out yesterday and bought 3 more skeins of worsted. I already have 6 single skeins at home but one I bought yesterday is from the same shop and dyelot. It is all so nice and soft. Seeing all the colors on Ravelry makes me want even more but the local shops all seem to have the same colors. I have a friend who wants to go back up to Yankee Candle in MA so I told her we would head off in April and I will plan some yarn shop visits along the way. Now, I have been blog reading and Ravelry reading to see what everyone is making with just one skein. I found a few possiblities for scarfs. I am really not a hat person except for the berets I have been making so I may make one more of them.

Lambs Pride Hat FO

The second hat for my baby gift for the shower on Monday. This is one of my favorite patterns to knit. It keeps me interested. http://www.needlebeetle.com/fionasfriends/free/lphat.html

Hanami is now blocking and I should be able to get a good picture next weekend. I also finished the Show Your Colors Shawl and hope to block that tomorrow if I have enough of the foam blocking blocks left since Hanami is on 3 of them.
I cast on today for the Diamond Fantasy Scarf by Sivia Harding. I am using Malabrigo lace weight and I love it. Ihave two more colors in the stash somewhere and will have to dig them out to see what else I can make.
My queue in Ravelry is filled with lace and I just keep adding more. After I finish the baby sweater that is on the needles, I really have to start a sweater for my nephew. I was hoping to have one done for him for graduation in June but his birthday is in September so as long as it is done by then, that will be fine. I haven't picked out a pattern yet but have a few ideas of sweaters that I want to knit and I will pick one of them for him.
Gust is now my work project and I manage a repeat and a half (more or less) at lunch every day. Sometimes I am chatting too much and have to tink back a row but it is getting longer every day. I am done with 16 repeats and it calls for 24 but I think I will go longer as I have more yarn than the pattern calls for and it is fun to knit.
