Sit 'N Knit

I went to visit a new to me yarn shop after CT Sheep & Wool yesterday. My friend Helen had gone and mentioned that they had a lot of Lorna's Laces so that clinched it for me going to visit. The three skeins on the right are Shepherds Sport in the Vera colorway. I love them. I also bought some patterns, sock needles, a store gauge/ruler thing and some clearance yarn for my mother. She started knitting again and just makes garter stitch scarves for herself and her church fair. She is also making afghan squares for Michael's. I will have to change around a pattern I have made before for a hat that you just knit a rectangle and sew it together. She could manage those with no trouble. The shop is very cute and I am so glad I went. They had some different yarns that I hadn't seen before and I do plan on going back to pick up some of it. They are mostly Koigu weight but the colorways are really nice.

CT Sheep & Wool

It was a very nice day in CT today, a little windy but nice. Here are some sheep that were waiting in the pen to be sheared. I arrived right when they opened at 9AM and left about 11:30.

These are my purchases. The sheep mug, fiber and a pair of circular wood needles are from the Sheep Shed. The sock yarn, shawl pin and some stoppers are from The Wheel Thing. I think that is all I bought. Now, I will patiently wait for MA Sheep & Wool during Memorial Day weekend.

WEBS buys

A book on Dyeing yarn (need to learn more for the Sock Yarn Dye Swap), Knitting Rules (my reason for traveling to WEBS last weekend), a Knitting Pure and Simple pattern (I love these patterns), 2 skeins of the $6 Regia sock yarn (one already went to live with my sister for her birthday), 6 skeins of Saucy, 7 skeins of Cascade 220, 2 skeins of Karaoke and 2 other brands of yarn to match to become scarfs from the Magknits website. Not too bad but more than I have spent at one time in a long time. I never liked green so I am a little confused as why I have all of a sudden been drawn to green yarn. I have more that I recently purchased and it is all green, too.

The Yarn Harlot

The Yarn Harlot was at Webs in Northampton, MA on Saturday, April 22, 2006. What fun. The talk was moved to a nearby hotel and then back to Webs for the book signing.

I left CT at 11 to get their early and shop. And shop I did, almost had a heart attack when I got my total. But, it is yarn and stuff and that is all good.

It was fun to see all the knitters knitting while Steph talked and to see the Olympic sweater. Very fun day.
