Well, blogger just ate my whole poste. Yech.

Needless to say, my nieces sweater is done. Yippee.

Still working on Whitby and the Koigu scarf.

My nieces sweater is done, done, done. Yippee. She tried it on today before I did the neck and I finished the neck about a minute after she left. She came back for her purse but I didn't give it to her. She will get it Tuesday night after I get to take a few pictures of it and put it in the tote bag that I had it in (she wanted the tote, so she can have it with the sweater). I can then start hunting for a new knitting bag. Not that I need one, I have about 10 that I use on and off. I guess I am still hunting for the perfect one. Plus, I need one for each project that I have going on. Right now that is only two, but I plan to start more soon.

My gansey is still going along. I haven't caught up to where I was before I discovered the wrong size needle because I was concentrating on my neices sweater.

I plan to start a baby sweater soon. It will be a Dale pattern that I have all ready to go. I have two that I really like, one is all stockinette and will be easier to do. The other is moss stitch and cabling which may be harder on the hands. Have to decide which one I really want to do.

I went to my favorite YS Saturday. I was going to spend the gift certificate that my sister gave me but I didn't. I did buy the Flower Basket shawl pattern (I do have that issue of IK but wanted the additional yarn weights) and two skeins of sport weight to make a small one and see how I like it. I plan to make that my lunch knitting once as I finish the Koigu scarf.

That's about it. My parents bought me Dark Chocolate for Easter plus the Kohl's stuffed sheep that was $5 for charity. It is bigger than I thought it was going to be and very soft and cuddly.

Still no computer but definately by the end of April. I am moving closer to ordering and figuring out where the old one will go so my nephew can still play his games.

Well, I ripped out the Whitby sleeve. How I knit a third of it on the wrong size needle is beyond me. I am not a third of the way back to where I was when I yanked it out. Need to see my niece this week to see if her sleeve is long enough. The Koigu scarf is into the second ball.

I read on the Aran list that Barbara Venishnick died last week. I was so shocked and sad to read that. I have known her since I first joined the CT knitting guild and she was so nice and friendly to be around. Plus, the advance look at all her designs was inspiring. I spent the middle of the day looking through most of my knitting magazines for her patterns. She was a talented designer who will be missed by those who knew her in person and those who just knew her through her talent.

After a below par day at work, I came home to a surprise from my secret pal. It was 4 canisters of different teas. Very cool. I haven't been drinking tea lately at work as I have been on the switchboard and you never know when you are going to be able to find someone to cover a break. Now, I can start up again. Yum.

I wore Clapotis to work today and got a few compliments. I plan to make a summery one out of a cotton blend yarn.

I also got a gift certificate to a favorite shop from my sister for my birthday.
The first time in years that I actually got a gift from her on my birthday. She is usually late. And my new computer desk is waiting downstairs for me to order my new computer. Soon, very soon. I just have to do it.

It is supposed to snow a little tomorrow so I may just stay home, knit, read, drink tea and watch some college basketball. And just maybe order the computer, too.

The knitting is going on the same as before. I am itching to start something new but have to finish one of the sweaters first.

The baby hat was given last week. I was in training so missed the shower and seeing my gift being opened. But, I heard that she liked it and the little outfits and I am sure someone there made sure she knows it was made by me even though I didn't tell a soul about it. Enough of the co-workers see me knitting that I am sure one of them said something.

Still pluggin away on my niece's sweater. I measured her arms and they are about 4 inches longer to the underarm than the size in the pattern I am making. So I will keep working on that. And here I thought it was time to decrease and almost be done. My niece was in a band concert this week (she's in the colorguard) and the whole idea of the concert was by two of the boys in the drumline. The band teacher (who can't be more than 28 or so and looked like a student himself) added the marching band to the show and that was over 75 kids right there. There was the Drumline, the Colorguard, the Jazz Band and then the Marching Band. Very, very good for a high school concert. Wish all the ones I had to go to when my sister was in the band were as good as this one was. Well worth the $4 it cost to get in.

I started a Koigu scarf from one of the patterns listed on Wendy's what to do with 2 skeins of Koigu page. It is very nice and was supposed to be my train knitting but I never touched it. I am off again tomorrow on the train and will probably bring it but don't expect to touch it then either. I am too nosy watching all the other commuters to knit.

I went off to the yarn shop again yesterday and picked up some leaflets and a few skeins of Dale Baby Ull. The owners daughter is pregnant and I want to make a Dale sweater in the new book. It has hearts down the front that you do after the sweater is done in duplicate stitch. I had some Baby Ull put away to knit a Baby Norgi but will knit this one with the yarn instead. No steeking, I am such a wimp.

Time if moving along and it dawned on me today to get my next package ready to go to my secret pal. So, the St. Pat's one is ready to go this week, then I have to get my Easter one together and then the last one. Everything is in a bag and I actually know where it is, just have to rememeber to get it ready to go.

I have to make myself sit here one day this week and order my new computer. I asked my father for a new computer desk for my new computer for my birthday and if he bought it, I will be getting the desk before I even ordered the computer. I keep thinking if I wait, I will get a better deal but I have to just bite the bullet and order it.
